Paint chip bookmarks

I am in love with paint chip craft projects. I love them so much I created a board on Pinterest, that you can see here. Paint chips appeal to me because of their beautiful color combinations and their clean crisp lines. So when I saw this idea and this one and also this one, I could go on and on,  had to try my hand at recreating some. These are my take on all the inspiration I found.

Here is a close up of my favorites. I had MANY failures before I figured out what I was doing. I got the best impressions from fine lined stamps, more solid designs smeared or just didn't look as nice. I also got the best impressions using StazOn Ink pad. I tried CTMH Archival Black Ink pad and Momento Tuxedo Ink pad but they were not bold enough on the slick finish of the paint chips.

I glued black cardstock to the back side to cover up the actual paint company information, rounded the corners, set a coordinating eyelet and ran some coordinating ribbons through it for finishing touches. These bright springy designs will be nice Easter basket stuffers to go along with my paint chip note pads.

Find inspiration everywhere! Go... Create something fun & fabulous. Enjoy!

  1. I just saw these the other day. What a clever idea! I definitely plan to try this!

  2. I absolutely love this idea! How do you get the beautiful writing on it?

  3. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

  4. What about the paint color names? Did you cover them up somehow?

    1. On this specific project I trimmed larger paint chips down to about 1.75 inches wide, if I remember right, so that trimmed away any of the printing on the front. Other projects I have left the paint color names, its all personal preference.

  5. This is great, I do a monthly class for a teenage group home and am looking for creative 'inexpensive' ideas. this one will be used for sure!

  6. I love your ideas!! I've used several of them and now am following you. Thanks for all the inspiration!

  7. que le pones detras para tapar ,ademas de las cardstock.

I enjoy reading each and every comment. Thanks for taking a moment to leave an opinion or observation.
